Our 2010 Zinfandel was my second wine that Heaven’s Gate produced and is my family’s favorite to date. My mom gets acid reflux drinking red wines and this wine is so smooth she loves this Zin. I enjoy smelling this wine as much as drinking this wine. This wine is very fruit forward, a lot of the eucalyptus and spice flavors common to Lodi Zins. The finish of this wine stays with you, therefore a wine really good with any meal. This wine won a Silver and Bronze medal in 2013 wine competitions.
Our 2012 Zinfandel is still in barrels and I believe it could be my best wine I have made so far. Very bold fruity flavor, with a spicy middle and soft cherry like finish. We have this wine in a recouped American barrel and we have added another kiss of the Savouy oven toasted American oak. Just like waiting for Christmas I can’t wait to bottle this wine in May of 2014.
