Chardonnay
The 2012 Chardonnay was my first attempt at a white wine. The wine was made in the bonded facility of Estate Crush in downtown Lodi. My wife wanted a butter bomb style wine, and I fell short of the amount of Butter flavor, but the wine turned out fantastic as Chardonnays are concerned. The wine was heavily oaked with 100% French oak. This wine is sold in the Estate Crush tasting room located at
Zinfandel
Our 2010 Zinfandel was my second wine that Heaven’s Gate produced and is my family’s favorite to date. My mom gets acid reflux drinking red wines and this wine is so smooth she loves this Zin. I enjoy smelling this wine as much as drinking this wine. This wine is very fruit forward, a lot of the eucalyptus and spice flavors common to Lodi Zins. The finish of this wine stays with you, therefore a wine really good with
Cathrine’s Blend
In 2011 we did not make a lot of wine because we still had so much from the previous 2 years. We did make a barrel of Zinfandel, a barrel of Cabernet and 30 gallons of Estate Petite Sirah. Of all wines entered in both the San Joaquin and Alameda County Fairs this wine won the
Cabernet
Our 2009 won a GOLD medal at the 2014 Alameda County Fair.
The 2009 Cabernet was my first wine I made. Rich, full bodied, high in Tannins. The flavor is very fruit forward in the nose. Tasting the wine you will get the berry fruit, like raspberries,
Barbera
Our 2012 Estate Barbera is still in barrels and will be released in June of 2014. My friends and fellow wine makers want me to bottle it now, but they will have to wait. This wine is made like the old school Italians did. The wine is just over 12% alcohol smooth and tasty. We mixed the oak additions
Mourvedre
Our 2013 Mourvedre is coming around very nicely. I will have only a 15 gallons of this years varietal . Toasted Toad Cellars purchased most of the grapes and it will be used in their GSM blend…Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre. I can’t wait for the release. Stop by the
